The City of Denver constructed a new and innovative airport promoted as the gateway to the west. With its unique tent / canopy design and latest technology, the new airport is recognized around the world.

Challenge

Recognizing that pay telephones were projected to decline in usage by traveler's due to the increased usage of cellular telephones, and those same travelers' were also using PDA's and other electronic devices more frequently, Denver International Airport (DIA) embarked on developing a new Internet strategy.

Approach / Solution

Based upon a winning RFP by Qwest Communications, Inc. also of Denver, Colorado and a client of Woodstock Group, DIA reviewed recommendations by Woodstock Group regarding but not limited to:

  • Partner selection for design / fabrication of stations
  • User interfaces
  • Rates
  • Customer Service
  • Installation and maintenance
  • Administration of the program
  • Other business and technology points

Results

The program was successfully launched and became a model for other airports and transportation hubs. Deliverables included but were not limited to:
